Angela Rayner, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, will address the Propertymark One conference on 12 June at ExCeL London, organisers have confirmed.

Rayner’s appearance comes as the government implements legislative changes affecting the private rented sector, including the Renters’ Rights Act and the Planning and Infrastructure Act. The government has set a target to deliver 1.5 million new homes in England during the current parliamentary term.

Industry engagement

Jason Lee, head of commercial at Propertymark, said: “Angela Rayner is one of the most pivotal figures in UK politics and housing policy today, and we are delighted to welcome her to Propertymark One. Her influence on the national conversation around housing, communities and opportunity has been profound.”

Lee added that having a political leader of her profile address the conference “underlines the scale and importance of Propertymark One within the industry”.

Conference programme

The conference will also feature broadcaster and journalist Daisy McAndrew, who has previously spoken at Propertymark One events and will contribute to sessions covering political, economic and industry issues relevant to the property sector.

BBC Click co-presenter Lara Lewington, who focuses on technology, artificial intelligence and health innovation in her journalism work, will also speak at the event.

Karren Brady, vice-chair of West Ham United and member of the House of Lords, will deliver the keynote address. Brady is known for her role on BBC’s The Apprentice and became managing director of Birmingham City FC at age 23.

Propertymark One 2026 will expand by 50% compared to previous years, featuring a main stage, two additional stages, and additional breakout zones. The conference brings together property professionals to discuss challenges including affordability, regulatory change and economic conditions affecting the housing market.
