The Guild of Property Professionals has released a six-part video series designed to provide estate agents with business insights and operational guidance.

The series, titled Inside the Network, is presented by The Guild’s chief executive Iain McKenzie and addresses topics including brand development, business generation, instruction acquisition and marketing approaches.

McKenzie, who operated an independent estate agency before joining The Guild, said the content draws on his experience and contributions from member agencies across the network’s various markets.

Content and format

The first episodes are scheduled for release this month. According to McKenzie, the series aims to distribute knowledge and strategies across the membership base.

“I have always believed that one of the biggest strengths of The Guild is the collective knowledge and experience within the network,” McKenzie said. “The Inside the Network series is about sharing that expertise and giving Members access to ideas, strategies and experiences that can help them strengthen and grow their businesses.”

The Guild operates as a network allowing independent estate agencies to maintain their business structures whilst accessing centralised services and resources. This model has become increasingly relevant as property agency owners pursue new ventures after business sales, with some choosing network affiliations over complete independence.

Future plans

The organisation plans to expand the series beyond the initial six episodes. Future instalments are expected to feature Guild members, account managers and administrative staff, covering case studies, industry developments and operational matters relevant to estate agents.

McKenzie noted his background informs the content approach: “Having been an agent and a Guild Member myself, I understand the realities of being on the front line, from winning instructions and standing out against competitors to building trust with clients.”

The training initiative comes as estate agents face operational pressures including tax threshold changes to affect majority of landlords by 2028, which may impact transaction volumes and client advisory requirements.

The Guild has positioned the series as an ongoing resource for member agencies operating across different regional markets in the UK.
