Some 95 homes are close to completion in Llantwit Fardre near Cardiff.
The development comes from a disused industrial site near Pontypridd, where so far 90 homes have been built.
The developer Bellway purchased the site in 2021, at which time it had sat vacant for nine years, having been a plant run by chemical and care product manufacturer Clariant until 2012.
Work at the site is due to be completed in January 2026.
Daniel Shone, head of sales for Bellway Wales, said: “We are very proud to have transformed this disused brownfield site into an attractive new neighbourhood where people want to live and put down roots.
“Coed Derw has provided a range of two to five-bedroom properties specifically designed to meet the housing needs of the local area and this variety has led to the creation of a diverse and vibrant new community.”
There were 87 properties for private sale and eight affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership, of which four are still available to buy.
Alongside the new homes, Coed Derw also features a children’s play area and open space on the south-eastern edge of the site, which borders neighbouring woodland.
Shone added: “The four homes still available at Coed Derw are all four-bedroom detached properties so would suit families looking to move to a thriving and well-established community with a very friendly feel.
“The development’s attractive rural setting and good road links to Cardiff have also proved to be an attractive combination.”
